Your leadership was never the problem. The system is broken.
The FLBS is a three-month leadership transformation for high-performing Filipina and Women of Color leaders in higher education who are ready to stop assimilating, over-functioning, and carrying what was never theirs—and start leading with authenticity, agency, and wholeness.
YES — I'M READY TO LEAD FROM WHOLENESS
October 2026 Founding Cohort • 15 leaders • 12 modules • Three-months of live coaching and community
You Already Know How to Lead.
You've earned the degrees. Built the career. Taken the promotions. Solved the problems. Shown up when others didn't.
You've been the reliable one. The one who says yes. The one who carries the invisible labor. The one who represents your community in rooms where you sometimes feel unseen.
And perhaps you've become very good at adapting.
• Reading the room.
• Softening your voice.
• Anticipating everyone's needs.
• Working twice as hard.
• Proving your competence.
• Managing other people's emotions.
• Being grateful for the opportunity.
• Holding everything together.
But somewhere along the way, you may have started wondering:
How much of myself am I sacrificing to be successful here?
And now you're tired. Not because you're incapable. Not because you aren't resilient enough. But because you've been carrying more than leadership requires.
And You've Probably Already Tried to Fix It.
Maybe you've tried becoming more organized. Delegating more. Setting better boundaries. Taking time off. Finding a mentor. Taking another leadership course. Reminding yourself to be more resilient.
Some of it may have helped.
But none of those strategies fully answer the deeper question:
Why do I keep ending up responsible for so much in the first place?
The reason this hasn't changed isn't that you aren't disciplined enough, strategic enough, or resilient enough.
You may simply have been trying to solve a deeper leadership pattern with tools that were never designed to address its cultural, relational, and institutional roots.
What if your next level of leadership doesn't require you to become more?
What if it requires you to put some things down?
You Don't Have a Leadership Capability Problem.
You Have a Leadership Sustainability Problem.
You know how to communicate, manage, collaborate, navigate complexity, solve problems, make difficult decisions, and get things done.
But traditional leadership development rarely asks:
• What did you have to learn to survive in order to become successful?
• What did your family teach you about being a good daughter?
• What did your culture teach you about sacrifice and service?
• What did gender teach you about being agreeable, caring, or accommodating?
• What did racism and racialized expectations teach you about proving yourself?
• What did higher education teach you about belonging?
• What did your professional environment teach you about who gets to be powerful—and how?
• What have you continued carrying simply because you've become so good at carrying it?
That's the deeper work.
What If Some of What You're Carrying Was Never Yours?
Your leadership has been shaped by more than your résumé.
You've inherited expectations from family, culture, gender, race, colonial history, religion, immigration, higher education, community, professional norms, and intergenerational patterns.
And you've developed adaptations that may once have helped you belong, succeed, or stay safe:
• Perfectionism
• People-pleasing
• Over-functioning
• Emotional labor
• Self-silencing
• Hyper-responsibility
• Constant proving
These patterns may have helped you become the leader you are today. That doesn't mean you have to carry every one of them into the leader you're becoming.
You don't have to reject where you come from. You get to consciously decide what you carry forward.
Introducing the Filipina Leadership Breakthrough System™
A Different Way to Become the Leader You Already Are.
The Filipina Leadership Breakthrough System™ is a 12-module, six-month leadership transformation built around the NARRA Method™—a culturally grounded framework designed specifically for the realities of Filipina leadership.
This isn't generic leadership development with Filipino terminology added on.
This work centers kapwa, bayanihan, lakas ng loob, Filipino and diasporic wisdom, and liberatory leadership principles, while drawing on scholarship including Freire, Crenshaw, and Anzaldúa.
Your culture is not a leadership liability to overcome.
Your identity, history, relationships, values, strengths, and lived experience are part of the leadership wisdom you bring.
The goal isn't assimilation. The goal is agency.
The NARRA Method™
Five phases. Twelve modules. One transformational journey.
N — NURTURE
Ground yourself in who you are. Reconnect with your cultural leadership identity, voice, strengths, and boundaries.
A — ADVANCE
Claim your voice, influence, and agency. Build the strategic capacity to advocate, navigate power, and increase visibility without compromising your values.
R — RESET
Restore your capacity and release what is costing you. Examine burnout, workplace impact, inherited patterns, energy, and cultural wisdom.
R — REVOLUTIONIZE
Create change beyond yourself. Turn insight into institutional impact and develop the next generation without reproducing leadership martyrdom.
A — ACTIVATE
Integrate your leadership and activate your legacy. Move forward with a leadership vision that is genuinely yours.
NARRA isn't about becoming someone new. It's about creating enough clarity, capacity, and agency to lead from who you actually are.
Why NARRA Is Different
The NARRA Method™ grew from a particular intersection: decades of leadership inside higher education, the lived realities of Filipina leadership, Filipino cultural wisdom, and liberatory approaches to power, identity, and institutional change.
Dr. Claire Oliveros spent more than 30 years inside higher education—including serving as a community college president—learning firsthand what it means to navigate leadership, power, belonging, cultural expectations, and complex institutional systems.
NARRA brings that lived leadership experience together with Filipino and diasporic wisdom and a deep understanding of the environments Filipina higher education leaders are navigating.
The result is not a leadership model asking you to become more like the institution.
It is a framework that helps you examine what shaped your leadership, decide what still serves you, strengthen your agency, and lead forward without making self-erasure the price of success.
What Changes When You Stop Leading From Survival?
ASSIMILATION → AUTHENTICITY
Stop asking, “How do I become the kind of leader this institution expects?” and start asking, “What kind of leader do I want to be?”
OVER-FUNCTIONING → AGENCY
Stop automatically taking responsibility for everything and begin choosing where your energy, time, and leadership belong.
PROVING → SELF-TRUST
Stop measuring your worth by how hard you work to establish your legitimacy.
PEOPLE-PLEASING → BOUNDARIES
Learn to say no, establish expectations, and protect your capacity without abandoning your values.
SELF-ABANDONMENT → WHOLENESS
Stop leaving pieces of yourself outside the room in order to belong inside it.
SURVIVAL → SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP
Make decisions about your career, institution, and future from clarity rather than exhaustion.
What Becomes Possible
• Set a boundary with your supervisor without spiraling into guilt.
• Speak more directly in executive meetings.
• Negotiate compensation without apologizing for asking.
• Recognize when you've taken responsibility for something that isn't yours.
• Interrupt the cycle of over-functioning.
• Navigate difficult institutional dynamics strategically rather than reactively.
• Build a leadership platform that reflects your actual values and expertise.
• Decide whether to stay, leave, or change direction from agency rather than exhaustion.
• Mentor the next generation without asking them to become martyrs.
• Create institutional change without sacrificing yourself to create it.
The goal isn't to make you stay. The goal isn't to make you leave. The goal is to help you make that decision from agency rather than exhaustion.

But I've Already Done Leadership Development. How Is This Different?
That's a fair question.
You may already know how to communicate, delegate, manage conflict, build teams, and develop strategy. NARRA does not assume you need to start over—or that you lack leadership competence.
Instead, it examines the layer underneath those competencies: what happens when a highly capable leader is also navigating cultural expectations, racialized and gendered dynamics, institutional power, invisible labor, belonging, family expectations, and deeply learned patterns of service and responsibility?
This is not about becoming more competent at carrying everything.
It's about developing the clarity and agency to decide what deserves to be carried at all.
This Is for You If…
• You are an administrator, director, department chair, dean, vice president, president, or other higher education leader.
• You are highly capable and highly credentialed and increasingly tired of carrying too much.
• You have experienced burnout, isolation, microaggressions, exclusion, or being overlooked despite your track record.
• You find yourself constantly adapting, translating, accommodating, or code-switching.
• You've become the reliable one—the person who makes things work.
• You want stronger boundaries without becoming someone you're not.
• You want visibility without performing a version of leadership that feels inauthentic.
• You are navigating a toxic or dysfunctional workplace and need tools for protecting yourself while deciding what comes next.
• You want to stay in higher education and lead differently or are seriously considering leaving.
• You want community with Filipina and Women of Color leaders who understand the experience without requiring you to explain it first.
This Is Not for You If…
• You want someone to teach you how to assimilate more effectively.
• You want to become more palatable to people in power.
• You want to hide the parts of yourself that make other people uncomfortable.
• You want to work harder to earn belonging.
• You want to become “resilient enough” to tolerate an unhealthy system indefinitely.
• You want to wait for your institution to change before giving yourself permission to change.
This work isn't about teaching you to survive better. It's about helping you decide how you want to lead.

You Have Already Proven That You Can Carry a Lot.
The question isn't whether you are strong enough. You've already demonstrated that.
The question is:
• What are you ready to stop carrying?
• What would change if you stopped assimilating and started choosing?
• What if you stopped over-functioning and started leading from your strengths?
• What if you stopped managing everyone else's experience of you?
• What if you stopped asking whether you belong and started deciding what you want to build?
• What if you could stay without abandoning yourself or leave without believing you failed?
You don't have to become less Filipino to become a powerful leader.
You don't have to become harder. You don't have to become someone else. You don't have to leave yourself at the door.
You get to lead from the fullness of who you are.
