The NARRA Leadership Institute™
Leadership Pathways for Filipina & Women of Color (WOC) Leaders in Higher Education and Organizations.
NARRA is both a cultural symbol and a leadership framework.
It takes its name from the Narra tree, the national tree of the Philippines — a symbol of strength, resilience, and deep roots. As a cultural touchstone, it represents cultural heritage, grounding, and endurance.
At The NARRA Leadership Institute™, it also stands for a proprietary framework: Nurture · Advance · Reset · Revolutionize · Activate.
Together, these pillars guide Filipina and Women of Color leaders to:
Nurture authentic leadership rooted in cultural identity
Advance equity-centered and heart-driven action
Reset sustainable practices and power
Revolutionize organizational culture from the inside
Activate a legacy that honors culture while creating change on the outside
The Institute is designed and led by Dr. Claire Oliveros, Filipina American educator, former community college president, executive coach, and one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the United States. All programs are grounded in liberatory leadership, somatic embodiment, Filipino cultural wisdom, and the scholarship of Paulo Freire, Kimberlé Crenshaw, and Gloria Anzaldúa.
